To address slowing growth in their main business, we developed a five-year investment plan for a Smart Energy Solutions company. This involved evaluating the company's current position, exploring build-buy-partner strategies, finding the best market entry points, and outlining new minimal viable product options and funding needs. We identified key related markets and opportunities, assessed the company's potential positions, and established phased market entry strategies. The plan received executive and board approval for initial investments and launched two projects: investing in an energy data management business and creating a new solution and partnership for optimizing distribution grid voltage.

We worked with academics, experts, and industry leaders to create a comprehensive piece on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Transformation for Georgia Tech’s IoT research center. The whitepaper and presentation examined important opportunities and challenges in digital change and IoT, highlighting new frameworks developed to help businesses effectively plan for these initiatives. The work received coverage from national and international media focusing on digital change and IoT.
Brand & Market Positioning
After a market survey revealed competitors were gaining recognition for their technology innovations, we initiated a project to refresh the company's brand from within. Partnering with a creative agency, we crafted clear messages for both employees and customers, updated our value proposition, and created multimedia content to demonstrate how our team fulfilled our brand promise. We also provided training to empower employees as brand ambassadors and developed a comprehensive digital marketing toolkit and campaign for demand generation, drip marketing, content marketing, and analyst relations. This led to achieving “most recognized” brand status, being labeled an “industry leader” by analysts, and increasing positive brand associations by up to 70%.
